Allison & Mike were married on a beautiful fall day a few weeks ago. We lucked out for weather. It’s not unheard of to have some snow on the ground this time of year.
What really sticks out to me about these two is just how truly in love they are. When they look at each other it is absolutely everything. It is as if they are the only two people in the room.
When you watch them together, it’s almost as if they’re having a silent conversation. You almost feel intrusive standing off to the side as they look into each other’s eyes. When Allison moves, Mike moves with her, like he knows her better than she knows herself.
Upon meeting Allison, you can tell that she is not one to care for being the center of attention. Rather, she puts the spotlight on others, tending to their needs and ensuring that everyone else around her is okay before considering herself. However, with Mike, she’s unable to hide. He really sees her, her beauty and kindness, a demure elegance that’s rather hard to put into words. Watching Mike look at Allison is like watching a Hallmark movie come to life.
Ask any wedding photographer what their favourite part of a wedding is, and they’ll all tell you the same thing: turning to groom when he sees the bride for the first time. Sometimes, that happens on the aisle. With Mike and Allison, that happened during a first look before the wedding ceremony. This is a moment that is just for the bride and groom. And when Mike turned to see Allison, it was as if the world had gone silent for just a moment. It was breathtaking. It was a moment to look back on and say, there, that is what love looks like.
To Mike and Allison, I wish you both the absolute world and beautiful life together. Thank you for allowing me to play a small part in the start of it.
